A Franciscan teacher and public preacher, Saint Anthony of Padua is one of the most popular saints of the Catholic Church. He is the patron saint of lost or stolen articles, travelers and sailors. He was officially declared a Doctor of the Universal Church by Pope Pius XII in 1946, as the Church wants us to learn from St. Anthony the true wisdom and what it means to become like Jesus Christ.
